Young at Heart are a group of ladies and men of the later years, spanning between the age of 50 and mid-nineties.

We meet weekly (Tuesday mornings between 10.00 and 12 noon) for coffee, light refreshments and chat; sometimes there are games available, sometimes we have a quiz, or a singalong, occasionally a speaker or we try our hand at a craft.

The last 2 Christmases many of us made a silk painted card. In addition to these mornings, we aim to get together for different events. Favourites include fish and chip lunches, boat trips, outings to Cherry Lane Garden centre or the theatre, Afternoon Tea, or a Bacon Butty lunch. (Yes, there is quite a lot of food involved!)

We are a friendly group who try to support one another where we can, and always welcome new people popping in for a coffee. We sponsor as a group, a young lad in Ecuador (his name is Wilson), many of our members donating £2 a month which pays for his education, medical needs, and the  social care of his whole family.

Although we are a Church group, we are open to all, Church members or not. If you know an older person who gets lonely, why not suggest they give us a try? If you would like to know more, please telephone Rosie (780210) or Jane Mill (781122)
